How do we pray when we no longer know how to pray, and think everyone else is doing it better? What does prayer really mean to us? We will explore some ways of entering the stillness of heart from which prayer can take shape, and some approaches to help prayer become a living reality in our daily lives.

During the retreat we will visit some familiar natural landscapes—the garden, the desert, the cave, the urban jungle, the seashore, and the forest and discover what they might have to teach us about our relationship with God (based on a book of the same title published by Lion Hudson, 2011).

During this retreat we will explore some ways of finding solid ground upon which to base our lives, and of steering a course by a Christian compass. We will explore some practical tools for discernment, from the Ignatian spirituality tradition, as we reflect on where God’s Dream for creation is beckoning us in our personal lives and in our world.

What I propose to do in this book is to take you on a guided exploration of the Catholic world but not in the manner of a docent for I am not interested in showing you the artifacts of Catholicism as though they were dusty objets d art in a museum of culture. I want to function rather as a mystagogue conducting you ever deeper into the mystery of the incarnation in the hopes that you might be transformed by its power. Father Robert Barron

Do I sometimes feel tired about praying over my decision-making, especially when both choices seem attractive? Oh God, please tell me…can’t you be more direct and perhaps louder?

In this section, we invite our readers to share with all of us your comments about the book and also your experiences where making choices are concerned. In this way, we can gather some feedback for the planning of the forum based on your expectations and also some burning questions you may have. The forum is to help us all crystalise our understanding and also sharpen our “tools” for decision-making. So, the forum is for YOU!
