Altar Wine
Have you tried altar wine before? It’s slightly sweet and the alcoholic contents is high at 17% and it’s very nice . All the altar boys and servers will testify to this though they may not admit to tasting it.
Some people like it after dinner as it’s sweet, rather like port. I like it.

My son, Cyril Xavier arrived yesterday at Mount Alvernia Hospital at 1pm. Both mom and baby are doing well.
It is interesting to hear a lay person explaining the application of the spiritual exercises for a change. She is clear and very gentle in her approach to spiritual direction. Nevertheless, she does challenge one to see beyond oneself … her presentation is clear and simple and very engaging.

‘Companions of Christ, Companions to Others’ 26-29 January 2010
What are people searching for in today’s bewildering world, and how might we accompany their search most effectively?
This retreat is designed to help us discover how we are called to be ‘companions of Christ’, in our everyday living, and how we are also called to be companions to others on their spiritual journeys. Such companioning may happen in formal spiritual direction and prayer guiding, but also in the many other ways in which we walk alongside each other, in pastoral ministry, in parish work, among family and friends, and simply in those significant conversations that happen in the course of our everyday ordinary lives.
The retreat will be most suitable for people with some experience of making a silent retreat and some familiarity with what it means to accompany others spiritually, whether formally or informally. No prior formal knowledge of Ignatian spirituality is assumed.

‘Living Pathways’ 2-5 February 2010
What does it mean to walk the pathways of our personal experience as companions of the Lord? How do we engage with the Gospel narratives in ways that truly connect to our daily living? How might we engage more fully with the challenge of helping to make God’s Kingdom a reality in our personal circumstances and turn routine living into the kind of adventure that, through grace, makes a real difference, not only for ourselves, but for the whole human family? During the retreat we will explore some approaches to scriptural meditation and reflective living. This retreat is suitable for anyone who wishes to deepen his or her life in Christ and to apply the challenges of faith to everyday living.

Today, 12 of us gathered to try to form the 2nd group in the spirituality of a CLC in transition. A formal local CLC takes some time to form and be accepted by the general body of CLC. The concept of CLC flows from the constitution of the Jesuits.
In the 2nd group, Sr Susay a cenacle sister is the EA to the group.
11 August 2009 – the first session chaired by Sr Susay got underway. Started at 8pm and we finished at 9.15pm. 3 members of the 1st group joined us as observers – Bobby, Liz & Louis. The Preamble was explained to us.
25 August 2009 – the second session was chaired by Liz as Sr Susay was away. We looked at the Preamble in greater details.
8 Sept 2009 – the third session was chaired by Sr Susay. Examination of Conscience was explained to us and we did spent some time in self-reflection before we shared our stories in faith.

Father Albert Renckens, age 79, passed away peacefully this morning, 31st July at 1.40 am at SGH. The wake is from July 31 – 3rd August, 9 am – 11 pm at Damien hall, Blessed Sacrament Church, 1 commonwealth drive
Vigil Mass on Monday 3 August at 8.00 pm.
Funeral Mass at 1.30 pm 4th August at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Cremation at Mandai Hall 4 at 3.45 pm.
